Spring into Action

Hey team! It’s been a slow start this semester, but our new friends for Norway loved meeting us and it was great to see everyone representing the team in uniform!

Now is the time to start taking action. Sun ‘N Fun is right around the corner and we always need volunteers to help represent the team and Polk State College. Sign up with Gordon and Sylvia to volunteer while spots last. As a reminder, after your shift is over volunteering, you have the rest of the day to spend exploring the awesome displays and shows during the calendar day. It’s also a great time to meet back up with the friends we made from SAFECON. No team meetings or flight training takes place that week so get out there and earn those tans!

I have started posting flyers around dispatch and the lobby with the date and time of each upcoming meeting, but if you have any question always feel free to reach out to me.

Remember this is a student lead organization and without you, there wouldn’t be a team. I hope your classes are going well and everyone aced their midterms!

Your Captain,

Justin Gentle

2020

Welcome to the new year!

As we all settle into our new flight blocks, classes, and everyday life, it is also time to settle into a new mindset. The flight team is beginning the new year with strong ground training, old and new business, leadership elections, and as always; welcoming new members. This is the time to be thinking about how YOU can improve as a pilot and take the flight team further than it has ever gone. We will be setting up dates for this semester’s team meetings, as well as splitting off into small groups to specialize in individual areas of ground competition. As we ring in the new year we can also ring in impeccable landings, detailed understandings of regulations, and kindle the fire of competition to burn brighter than ever before. We are excited for another great year backed by our many supporters, and cannot wait to see you with your E6Bs and plotters in the coming weeks.

Cheers!

Your Captain,

Justin Gentle

Fall 2019 Practice and Meeting Times

Hello team!

As the practices and meetings have settled into a stable routine, I wanted to remind you of the times we study together. The team provides two chances a week to work together outside of your small groups. Just like our schoolwork, the more self-study you do, the greater the results will be. I hope everyone’s flight lessons and classes are going well, and if you need any assistance, I am usually at the school 7 days a week. Keep it up!
